FAQ: FAQ

What should I expect for my first session?

For your first session always expect some time taken away from the hands on treatment. I like to perform a thorough assessment in order for me to understand exactly what is going on with each individual. This allows myself and the client to work together and come up with an appropriate treatment plan we can both follow. However some assessments aren't as long as others it depends on each individual.

What should I wear (not wear) during my treatment?

This is a question each client has to answer themselves. Massage is more beneficial and easier to treat with skin on skin contact, however massage can be performed over and or around and piece of clothing. It is important that you are comfortable and never feel uncomfortable or vulnerable during the treatment. you can wear as little or as much clothing as you feel.

Do I tip my Massage Therapist?

In my professional opinion, tips are dependent on reason for the treatment. If the appointment was booked for therapeutic and medical purposes such as a specific injury, chronic pain, anything specific and for medical reasons, tips are not required. This is similar to a family physician appointment where treatment is necessary and tips are not. However, if the appointment is booked for relaxation and pampering purposes, the option of tips is left to the judgement of the patient. In this scenario tips are welcome and greatly appreciated, however not necessary or expected.
